Member of the Football Association (FA) board Heather Rabbatts has reportedly slammed Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore over his sexist emails and accused him of having a 'closed culture' of sexism.
Rabbatts said that recent events appear to display that a responsible behaviour and good governance is lacking in the Premier League despite the tremendous achievements of creating one of the world's great footballing tournaments.
According to the BBC, Rabbatts said that the sexist emails have been a growing evidence of a closed culture of sexism, symbolized in the email exchanges that have been made public.
The Premier League's audit and remuneration committee, which would be headed by Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck, is set to meet on Monday to consider disciplinary action against Scudamore.
The FA's inclusion advisory board, chaired by Rabbatts, would then reportedly meet on Tuesday to consider a response to the situation.
Rabbatts, who is a former deputy chair of Millwall FC, said that she personally hopes that progress can be made on all of these fronts so that they could feel confident that the leaders of football are accountable for their actions and support a culture that genuinely welcomes the participation of women and girls in their national game.
