Midfielder Cesc Fabregas scored twice in extra time as Chelsea recovered from two goals down to beat 10-man Leicester City 4-2 in the third round of the Football League Cup, here at the King Power Stadium on Wednesday.
It was Premier League champions Leicester, who took the lead first when Shinji Okazaki ended a 13-game goal drought with two first-half goals for his side in the 17th and 34th minute respectively.
However, Chelsea soon managed to make amends with captain Gary Cahill nodding in before the break, followed by Cesar Azpilicueta's equalizer in the 49th minute.
Leicester were then forced to play the additional half-hour with 10 men after Marcin Wasilewski was sent off for striking substitute Diego Costa with a forearm, goal.com reported.
Chelsea did take great advantage of the same as Fabregas smashed two goals inside the opening four minutes of the extra-time to knock Leicester out of the competition and guide his side to the fourth round.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have also stormed into the fourth round of the league cup with a comfortable 4-0 win over Nottingham Forest.
