A hair salon in Dubai could face serious implications for using the name and logo strikingly similar to that of popular social media site Facebook.
Facebook claims that 'Facelook' salon might have breached its intellectual property rights with the use of similar logo having simple white lettering on a blue background, New York Daily News reports.
According to the report, the owner of the hair salon said that he had registered the name and brand under UAE labor law with 'no problem' but admitted that the logo 'for a normal guy, with a naked eye' looks familiar'.
The owner however insisted that the color and the font of his salon are different from Facebook's and said that any similarity is merely a 'coincidence'.
Facebook's spokesman said that the company will look at the case more closely as it is eager to protect the brand, the report added.
