The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday said that Devendra Fadnavis would never promote 'VIP culture'; after reports stated that the Maharashtra Chief Minister had delayed an Air India flight by about an hour.
"He [Fadnavis] has clarified his stand on the matter. This incident is being turned into an issue without a reason. The Chief Minister will never promote a VIP culture. We have faith in him," said BJP spokesperson Girish Vyas.
According to reports, Fadnavis had delayed an Air India flight to the US by around an hour as his principal secretary brought the Chief Minister's old passport to the airport.
The flight was carrying around 250 passengers.
