Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that the Delhi Metro would be an attraction for the world because of its environment friendliness.
In a rally after he inaugurated the Faridabad metro station on the Violet Line, the Prime Minister congratulated the Union Urban Development minister Venkaiah Naidu and his team for handling the project of the expansion of Delhi Metro very well and setting an example for the world to see.
"I want to congratulate Venkaiah for setting an example for the world by making this metro environment friendly. The stations have solar panels installed which produce 2MW electricity. This electricity produced is used for all the activities in the metro station. This sets an example for the world," said the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister today inaugurated the Faridabad metro station on the Badarpur-Faridabad Violet Line. He also travelled on the same.
