Delhi Police Commissioner B.S. Bassi on Wednesday said that the testimony of all those who witnessed farmer Gajendra Singh's suicide at the Jantar Mantar will be taken into consideration.

"Statement of eyewitnesses is extremely important for any criminal investigation. We are going to take into consideration the testimony of all those who have witnessed this incident and are available," said Bassi.

"The investigating officer will question all relevant people as per his action plan. We don't want to speculate who will be questioned. Investigating officer has reviewed the post-mortem report. I will share the information as soon as he gives me a preliminary report," he added.

The farmer, who hailed from Rajasthan's Dausa district, hanged himself from a tree during a rally organised by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) at the Jantar Mantar last week.

As per reports, a suicide note was found that revealed the farmer, who had three children, was banished from his house after his crop was damaged. He took the extreme step because he had no means to support his family.
