Fashion conscious Guwahati doesn't seem keen on promoting traditional attire anymore; its actually turned revolutionary in its outlook and style, and this was clearly visible at the recently held two-day 19th Boutiques Exhibition. All participants showcased their ethnic finery and apparel ahead of Diwali and the wedding season.
The event offered a rich mix of designer wear; designer, precious and semi-precious jewellery, kid's apparel, women's accessories, home furnishing, lifestyle products and footwear. More than 50 exhibitors from across India showcased their collections.
"People are fashion conscious and they like new things. People like experimenting and are responding well and they liked my outfits. Other shops also got good response. People love to look unique so they love trying outfits that is unique and interesting and end up buying such apparels," said a exhibitor from Kolkata.
The exhibition also included wedding and bridal wear, allowing customers to cut down their fatigue by allowing them to shop for all necessary things under one roof.
Jaipur's traditional and bright handmade 'gota' jewellery, accessories and handbags, perfect for a wedding, were a major attraction among the customers.
The visitors from all walks of life added to the event's charm as they came dressed in their best outfits.

"This is the first time we are displaying our items in such exhibition and response is really overwhelming. We showcased various items like 'gota' jewellery, designer blouses etc which are manufactured by us so the people showed interest to our items. People from across the country have gathered here to showcase their best of items," said an exhibitor from Jaipur.
Such exhibition plays a significant role in revolutionizing the Fashion Exhibition Industry and also provides a platform to Designers from all over India to reach out to different cities and expand their reach.
