Justin Lin is in negotiations to helm at least the first two episodes of the upcoming season of HBO drama series 'True Detective.'
'The Fast And The Furious' director would take over for Cary Fukunaga, who helmed and executive produced the first season of the show and had won the best director for a drama series Emmy, if the deal is sealed, Deadline.com reported.
While no details regarding the cast or plot had been confirmed, Colin Ferrell, Taylor Kitsch and Vince Vaughn are expected to star in the series, which is believed to focus on the inquiry of a corrupt city manager, who gets murdered amidst a possible groundbreaking transportation deal.
Meanwhile Fukunaga, who has feature commitments, would remain an executive producer for the new season, for which the set locations would be shifted from Louisiana to California.
