Misty Upham's sister and father remembered and opened up about the actress after her tragic death.
The 'Frozen River' star's sister, Amanda Upham, 34, said that she was a giving person and always put everybody else first, People magazine reported.
Upham was an activist, loved animals and had worked for various causes, including PETA, she added.
The 32-year-old 'Django Unchained' star was found dead at the bottom of a 150-foot embankment in Auburn, Washington, after she went missing 11 days earlier.
Her father, Charles Upham, 56, said in a statement on Facebook that the 32-year-old actress didn't commit suicide and their family believe that she must have fell into the woods behind her apartment while trying to hide from the police, and accidentally slipped fell off of the steep embankment.
He also said that his daughter, who suffered from mental illness, was afraid of the police since she had been mistreated by the law in the past where they had transported her involuntarily to the ER.

However, Auburn Police Commander Steve Stocker had said on the ill-treatment claims that he had never met or spoken to the star, who now even has a memorial fund in her honor.
During the disappearance, Stocker had also said that they were doing everything they could to find her.
