Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson GVL Narasimna Rao on Wednesday said that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) are aware that they would be losing in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections and are therefore making excuses in advance such as faulty Electronic Voting Machines.

"AAP know that they are going to lose in the Delhi assembly elections and therefore are looking for excuses in advance such as faulty EVMs. This is not right. They are trying to divert attention from the core point," said Rao.

Earlier in the day, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal said that the party would meet the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and urge him to allow the party to put banners outside each booth to educate voters, as they suspected tampering of Electronic Voting Machines ahead of Delhi Assembly elections.

AAP has alleged that the EVMs are being tampered with ahead of the assembly elections in the national capital.

The elections for the 70-member Delhi Assembly will be held in a single phase on February 7. The counting of votes will take place on February 10. The last day of campaigning is February 5.
