Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) has announced its new president Harshavardhan Neotia, Chairman of Ambuja Neotia Group for the year 2016.
Operating through several companies, the Ambuja Neotia Group covers the entire spectrum of the Real Estate industry including housing, hospitality, health care and education.
Harshavardhan Neotia did his schooling in La Martiniere for Boys, Kolkata and obtained B.Com (Hons.) degree from St. Xavier's College, Kolkata. Subsequently he completed the Owner President Management Program (OPM) from the Harvard Business School, USA.
He was conferred with 'Padma Shri' by the President of India in 1999 for his outstanding initiative in social housing. He was also honoured with YPO Legacy of Honour Award in 2005.
Neotia is a member on the Society of Rajiv Gandhi Indian Institute of Management, Shillong. He is a member on the First Court of Tripura University. He is also a member of the Chief Minister's Advisory Council, Government of Rajasthan. Neotia is a member of the Chief Minister's Core Committee on Industry, Government of West Bengal. He is on the Board of Shree Somnath Trust, Gujarat.
Harshavardhan will take over from Dr Jyotsna Suri, Chairperson and Managing Director of Bharat Hotels Ltd (The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group), during the FICCI AGM to be held next month.
