The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) today congratulated Theresa May on her taking over as the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
In a statement, FICCI said, "The Indian industry is optimistic that under her resolute and decisive leadership, the period of uncertainty and volatility will give way to stability and renewed commitment to foreign enterprise to view UK as an ideal investment and business hub. FICCI assures its continued cooperation and commitment towards deepening business synergies with the UK, which has remained India's valued economic partner."
May assumed charge as Britain's second woman Prime Minister on Wednesday and immediately announced changes in the Cabinet.
The new cabinet appointments are as follows:
Chancellor - Philip Hammond
Home Secretary - Amber Rudd
