All-Nepal Football Association chief Ganesh Thapa has been handed a ten-year suspension by the FIFA Ethics Committee for taking bribes in connection with the 2011 FIFA executive committee elections.
The former vice-president of Asian Football Confederation (AFC) was found to have committed various acts of misconduct, including the acceptance of cash payments from another football official, the Guardian reports.
Nepal authorities had also initiated investigation against Thapa after he was found accused of embezzling four million pounds of football development money during his 19-year tenure.
Meanwhile, FIFA's ethics committee has also banned Lao Football Federation president, Viphet Sihachakr, for two years for accepting payment from another football official.
