Asserting that the fight against terrorism is about right and wrong, Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday said the country is on the right side of history in this war.
Sharif made these remarks during a high-level meeting chaired by him to assess the situation of law and order in Lahore following suicide bomb attack outside the Punjab Assembly in Lahore on Monday, that left 15 people dead and several others injured.
The meeting was attended by Interior Minister, Defence Minister, Advisor on National Security, Punjab Chief Minister and other provincial cabinet members.
Sharif also lauded the efforts of the Pakistan Army and other law enforcement agencies saying that they have acquired successful results in the war due to their "matchless sacrifices".
"No one should think that we will stumble in this struggle due to such terror attacks. Our enemies will be defeated by our national resolve," Dawn quoted Sharif as saying.
The Prime Minister claimed that the cancerous terrorism and its ideology would end soon.
Sharif was also briefed by the Counter Terrorism Department Additional Inspector General Rai Tahir on actions being taken by the department in countering the menace of terrorism.
