Filing of nomination papers for 200 constituencies in the ensuing assembly polls in Rajasthan will begin today.
The last date of filing nomination papers is November 12, and there will be no nomination work on next Sunday, November 10.
Scrutiny of papers will take place on November 13, and they can be withdrawn by November 16.
Polling will take place on December 1 in single phase.
According to reports, the Election Commission has made all necessary arrangements for filing of nomination papers and free and fair election. No procession will be allowed with candidates during filing of nomination papers.
Rajasthan is expected to witness a fierce battle between the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Moreover, the upcoming assembly election in Rajasthan is being seen as a litmus test for both the parties ahead of the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
