Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh on Tuesday said the aim of the film in which he is playing the lead role is to spread messages against social evils, adding that there are many other socially relevant messages in the film.
He also said that he chose movie as a medium to send across his message because he wanted to communicate with the youth in the medium that they find interesting.
"To change the youth and to stop the evil spreading in the society, we are coming forward, we are doing good work. We encourage people to stop drugs, prostitution, child marriage, that is what movie is about," Ram Rahim said.
"There are some 15 such messages in the movie for the society. What other saints are doing is fine, this is my way of addressing problems in the society. We wanted to communicate with the youth in the medium that they find interesting, so we chose this medium," he added.
The Sirsa based Dera Sacha Sauda claims to have over five crore followers worldwide and aims to eradicate drug addiction from the country.
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has reportedly refused to clear the film 'MSG: The Messenger of God', featuring Guru Ram Rahim Singh.
The Censor Board has objections to Ram Rahim being shown to be performing miracles and curing terminal diseases. Board is also reportedly apprehensive that the movie might flare up communal clashes.
