Filmmaker Homi Adjania who was in the capital to promote his upcoming flick 'Finding Fanny' along with its lead actors Deepika Padukone and Arjun Kapoor, says it's a sweet beautiful and quirky love story.
Speaking exclusively to ANI, Adjani spoke about the inception of the film and said, "I read a story about a postman who was arrested and put into jail for eleven years for not delivering a letter and when he got caught it was found that his house was full of letters. And from there the idea came that what if someone had proposed or someone had written something important in their life and it never got delivered so they lived a life full of regret for something that never happened. So that's where the seed of the story came and then I wanted to play with these various characters."
Talking about her role in the movie, Padukone said, "I play Angie, she is a girl born and brought up in Goa and she is an orphan, a widow and also a virgin. But at the same time she lives in her own world and is not disturbed with her life and she is just flowing with it."
Starring Naseeruddin Shah, Dimple Kapadia, Pankaj Kapur, Deepika Padukone and Arjun Kapoor in prominent roles the film is based on a road trip set in Goa and follows the journey of five dysfunctional friends who set out on a road trip in search of Fanny, the love-interest of the character played by Naseeruddin Shah.
Directed and written by Homi Adajania and produced by Dinesh Vijan, the film is scheduled to release on September 12.
