Rising Pune Supergiants suffered yet another setback as opening batsman Faf du Plessis has been ruled out of the Indian Premier League after sustaining a broken finger.
"And so my Ipl tournament unfortunately comes to an end. Broken finger and out for 6 weeks.Thanx India and @RPSupergiants it's been fun," wrote Du Plessis on his Twitter handle.
The South African T20 captain scored 206 in six matches at an average of 34.33, with highest being 69.
Earlier, Pune lost the services of former England batsman Kevin Pietersen, who was forced to end his IPL campaign with a calf injury.
Pune are currently sixth in the points table after winning two out of their six matches.
