Out of form pacer Steven Finn, who was the only member of England's 17-man Test squad not to feature during the 5-0 Ashes whitewash, has promised to make a strong come back as he on his way to home.

Explaining the decision to send 24-year-old Finn home, England one-day coach Ashley Giles had said on Wednesday the player was not selectable at the moment and leaving was for his own good to work on technical aspects of his game.

Finn trained with his team-mates for a final time on Thursday before returning to London as they prepared for their one-day international with Australia in Brisbane on Friday.

He said he was looking forward to returning to work with coaches at Middlesex, including director of cricket Angus Fraser, The BBC reports.

Finn accepted that there are a couple of technical issues that he needs to address, and added that the decision was made between Giles and Fraser that going home and working on these aspects of the game would be the best place for him.

Finn follows the early departures of Jonathan Trott with a stress-related illness after the first Test and Graeme Swann, who announced his retirement before the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne.
