An FIR was filed against Rashtriya Janata Party (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav for allegedly making a casteist remarks during his election campaign address at Raghopur in Bihar.
During his address at the rally, the RJD chief had reportedly said that state assembly election is war between the backward and forward castes.
The officials at the state Election Commission stated that Prasad's speech was examined by the poll body after it received a complaint against him. He said the poll authority found that his remarks were in violation of model code of conduct.
Meanwhile, an FIR has also been registered against senior BJP leader Sushil Modi for violating the Poll Code. The case was registered in Bhabua Nagar Police Station in Kaimur District. Sushil Modi is alleged to have said in an election meeting that Scheduled Caste and Schduled Tribe students will be given free lap tops if BJP is voted to power in the state.
