The first meeting of the nine-member committee set up by Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan to probe into the Aam Aadmi Party MP Bhagwant Mann's video incident ended on Monday evening.

The MP, who has been asked to submit his statement or explanation over the issue by Tuesday 10.30 before the committee, has sought three days to submit his deposition.

As soon as House met for the day, Mahajan announced that the committee headed by BJP MP Kirit Somaiya will submit its report by August 3.

She also asked Mann not to attend the House sitting till a decision on the matter is reached.

The panel will do its inquiry into the serious security implications and related aspects arising out of the audio visual recording around the Parliament House complex.

The Speaker said the committee would also suggest suitable remedial measure to avoid recurrence of such incidents in future and recommend appropriate action in the matter.

Last week, the MP had recorded a video of Parliament complex and uploaded it in a social media. The issue had created uproar in both Houses on Friday.
