The torch for the 2014 Winter Games which went into space on the Soyuz rocket, has successfully docked at the International Space Station (ISS).
The Russian mission control said that the spacecraft carrying Russian, US and Japanese astronauts and an unlit Olympic torch for the Winter Games in Sochi had arrived successfully, News24 reported.
The torch, which was will not burn when it's onboard the space outpost as it would consume oxygen and pose a threat to the crew, is the first spacewalk in history for an Olympic flame.
The torch will remain in space for five days.
