The first female editor of a Saudi national daily has said she hopes to see more women take up top posts in the media fraternity in the ultraconservative kingdom.
Sumayya Jabarti was named as editor-in-chief of the Saudi Gazette, one of the two main English-language dailies in the Saudi Arabia.
According to Gulf News, Jabarti said the success would not be complete unless other Saudi women in the media take other roles where they are decision-makers.
She said being the first Saudi woman newspaper editor is going to be double the responsibility for her.
