The first Twenty20 international between New Zealand and Sri Lanka reportedly had to be abandoned without a ball being bowled due to bad weather in Pallekele on Tuesday.
Heavy rain since early morning drenched the Pallekele International Stadium and forced the umpires to call off the match at 17:15 PM when the weather did not clear.
According to Sport24, the second match is also scheduled to be played in Pallekele on Thursday.
The preceding one-day series was drawn 1-1 with one match rained off, the report added.
