World number four Maria Sharapova has admitted that winning a Grand Slam title will remain her priority in the upcoming season, adding that she will try to accomplish that goal in the Australian Open.

The 28-year-old Russian, who will play at next week's Brisbane International before heading into the Australian Open, said that the first event of the year would be tough, insisting that she was looking forward to start the season with a win, News.com.au reported

Rising youngsters namely world number three Garbine Muguruza and world number 14 Belinda Bencic will compete against Sharapova amidst nine top-20 women at Brisbane International.

Sharapova, the five-time Grand Slam winner, said that it was great to see new talented women coming up and raising the level of the game.

Sharapova, who won the Brisbane International last January and was runner-up at the Australian Open, missed three months of tournaments due to leg injury after Wimbledon semi-final loss to Serena Williams in early July.
