Four athletes and their basketball coach drowned at Kerala's Kovalam beach on Sunday.
While the body of a 21-year-old Hotel Management student has been recovered, a search operation is currently underway to recover the other bodies.
City Police Commissioner H Venkitesh said the Navy's help has been sought in the matter.
"We have contacted the Navy in Ernakulam, very shortly we will get the services of the Navy.... Life guards keep on warning the people, but very few people listen," he said.
Venkitesh added that search operations have been hampered due to adverse weather conditions.
