Five people were killed after a fire broke out on the Bandra-Dehradun Express train near the Dahanu Road Railway station in Maharashtra's Thane District early on Wednesday morning.
Media reports said the fire broke out in the S3, S4 and S5 sleeper coaches of the train, at 2 a.m. this morning.
Among the dead were four men and one woman. They died due to asphyxiation.
The train has been brought to the Gholvad Railway Station, which is around 145 kilomters north of Mumbai.
Efforts are currently on to separate the three charred coaches, so that the rest of the train can be sent to Dehradun.
