At least five people were reportedly killed and three others injured after a huge rock fell on a house in Karachi on Thursday.
The owner of the house, 45-year old Zameer Gul, along with his wife and three children were killed in the incident, reports Geo News.
Gul's daughters, Muskaan, Rooma and Zohra were injured in the incident and shifted to the civil hospital.
According to the police, the huge rock fell on a house in the Gulshan e Ghazi area of Karachi's Baldia Town in this morning possibly due to residents continuing to cut through the mountains with the help of explosives.
"Encroachments on the mountain are illegal. The residents who have illegally occupied the area are responsible for such incidents," Geo News quoted Deputy Commissioner (West) Asif Jamil as saying.
