At least five people were reportedly killed in a shootout in a village in China's northern Hebei province.
A statement issued by the police said that a gunman, named Liu Shuangrui, shot dead two of his neighbours in the village.
When the police arrived, he again opened fire and killed two cops while injuring two others. He was later shot dead, reported the BBC.
Police added that Liu had been suffering from "long-term schizophrenia".
