Five students were killed and one injured in a head-on collision between a van and an auto-rickshaw in Bihar's Siwan district on Monday.
The accident took place at around 6 a.m. when the auto-rickshaw carrying students was returning from a coaching center.
"The students were returning from the tuition. The accident took place when the auto rickshaw was going and the pick-up van came in front of it. Both the vehicles were damaged, and we all took the students out," said an eye-witness.
The injured were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital.
However, the locals and family members were infuriated on not finding any doctor on duty at the hospital. They torched over six vehicles, including an ambulance, parked at the hospital.
The police later brought the situation under control.

Meanwhile, Om Prakash Yadav, parliamentarian from Siwan, accused the hospital authorities of negligence in students' treatment.
"It is obvious that the agitation that has erupted is because of carelessness on part of the authorities. Had the authorities taken care of their responsibilities at the right time, such situation could have been avoided," he said in New Delhi.
