Congress Party on Friday welcomed the Supreme Court's decision to grant bail to Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav in connection with the fodder scam case.

"Everything must be in accordance with law, if court has granted him bail then we welcome it," said Law Minister Kapil Sibal.

In a major relief to former Bihar Chief Minister, the apex court today granted him bail in connection with the fodder scam case.

The order was passed by a two-judge bench of the apex court.

Lalu, another former Bihar Chief Minister Jagannath Mishra and 43 others were on September 30, convicted by a special CBI court in the fodder scam case involving fraudulent withdrawal of 37.7 crore rupees from Chaibasa Treasury during the RJD regime.
