Foreign secretaries of Pakistan and India are likely to meet in the second-half of August to discuss the future of the stalled bilateral dialogue process.

According to the Dawn, the foreign secretaries have been asked to meet by Prime Ministers Nawaz Sharif and Narendra Modi.

A decision to this effect was taken when Sharif met Modi in New Delhi a day after the latter was sworn in as the Prime Minister of India in May this year.

The governments of the two countries are yet to work out the proposed dates for the meeting.

Talks between Pakistan and India have been suspended since January last year following the brutal killing of two Indian Army soldiers on the Line of Control (LoC).
