French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius on Monday said the French Government will be working on a new visa issue system to ensure that Indian nationals get it within 48 hours.
"I would like to emphasize on the development of tourism between our two countries. This is a shared priority. France has decided to put in place by January 3, 2015 new visa issuing procedures to ensure delivery to Indian citizens in less than 48 hours," Fabius announced.
He said that this move of the French Government is aimed at strengthen tourism and to facilitate human exchanges between two countries.
He also expressed glad that more and more French students are visiting India for study purpose.
"France is pleased to receive increasing number of Indian students and we are willing to welcome even more of them in the near future," he added.
He also announced that France will be proposing a credit line of 1 billion euros for sustainable infrastructure and urban development in India through the French Development Agency.
He further added that the partnership between India and France needs to grow further, particularly in the economic area.
