French Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development Laurent Fabius on Thursday called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the national capital.
The two leaders shook hands and exchanged pleasantries before discussing matters of mutual interest.
As per French sources, the objective of this visit is to discuss a range of bilateral and international issues as well as the reduction of carbon footprints in rail transportation, climate change and sustainable development.
French National Security Advisor Jacques Audibert had earlier in October last year called on Prime Minister Modi during his India visit when the latter had confirmed that a trip to Paris had been scheduled for 2015.
