The residents of Srinagar had a reason to cheer as the city received fresh snowfall on Monday.
The snowfall will aid farmers and fruit growers, putting an end to the long, dry spell in the valley.
The 40-day long Chillai Kalan is believed to be the harshest winter period in the valley. The temperature was recorded at minus two degree Celsius on Sunday.
On Sunday, when the valley witnessed the first snowfall of the season, many people were also seen sitting next to bonfire to keep themselves warm.
The valley will reportedly receive heavy snowfall over the next two days.
