Union Road and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari met Nepal's Prime Minister Sushil Koirala at his official residence in Kathmandu and assured him of India's support on developmental issues.
Gadkari was in Nepal to attend a two-day infrastructure summit.
During the meeting, Gadkari and Koirala discussed various issues, including ways to take India-Nepal relations forward and plans for development assistance.
Gadkari assured Prime Minister Koirala of complete cooperation and support from India in development issues.
"There is a process of drafting a new Constitution under the leadership of the Prime Minister (Sushil Koirala). I have assured him that our government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the citizens of India will be extending their full support and best wishes for this work," Gadkari said.
Gadkari also suggested to the Nepal Government to follow India's successful public-private partnership model in constructing roads and other development projects.
