Wishing Bharatiya Janata Party's veteran leader Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his 91st birthday, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Friday said fulfilling his dream will be the best birthday wish for him.
"I give my best wishes to Vajpayeeji on his birthday. His life is an inspiration to us. We are fulfilling his dreams. He was sensitive to the concerns of farmers. Today we work to fulfil Atal ji's dreams, if we complete the work he started that will be the best birthday wish for him," Gadkari told the media here.
Speaking about the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) programme, Gadkari said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay foundation stone of the project on 31st Dec.
"NH-24 corridor will be widened to 14 lanes. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay foundation stone of the project on 31st Dec. We want to complete this in 2 years, will make travel from Delhi to Meerut in 40 mins. Delhi's peripheral highway is axis control express highway, 143 kms work has started. PM wants it to be completed in 400 days. Delhi-Meerut, and Delhi's peripheral highways when completed will reduce Delhi's traffic jams by 50%," he added.
PM Modi too extended his warm wishes to BJP patriarch Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his 91st birthday.
"Birthday greetings to our beloved Atal ji. We salute this great personality who provided exceptional leadership to India at a crucial time. Be it as a party leader, Parliamentarian, Minister, Prime Minister, Atal ji distinguished himself in every role. This is his speciality," Prime Minister Modi said in a series of tweets.
