Turns out, the new 'Game of Thrones' teaser poster that popped online earlier this week was just the tip of the iceberg.
HBO announced July 16, 2017 as an official return date for the much-awaited season during a Facebook Live event that saw more than 160,000 viewers watching ice melt during three separate broadcasts as the stream suddenly cut out twice.
Kicking off with the show's instantly recognizable theme song, the event saw a camera slowly pushing in on a block of ice in a dimly lit chamber. As the theme reached its conclusion, fire roared against the ice.
The video showed a block of ice that viewers had to melt by commenting "Fire" to reveal the date.
Back in July, showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff said the reason the show was delayed was due to logistics.
