West Indian T20 specialists Chris Gayle and Kieron Pollard are among the marquee players who are expected to feature in the inaugural edition of the Pakistan Super League scheduled to be held in Doha next year.
Explosive opener Gayle had reportedly signed the pre-draft agreement for the T20 tournament on Monday, while compatriots Dwayne Bravo, Darren Sammy and Sunil Naraine will also be part of the PSL draft pool.
"Obviously top guns like Gayle are stars who attract fans," Najam Sethi, head of PCB Executive committee, was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.
"They lend commercial value, showbiz glitz and tournament credibility. They are also sources of inspiration and emulation for our budding players," Sethi added.
The Pakistan Cricket Board are expecting to bring in at least 25 overseas players to boost domestic cricket standards.
The tournament, which is slated to start from February 4 to 24, will feature five franchise-based teams from Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta and Islamabad.
