German court has made an order rejecting attempts by opposition parties to bring U.S. whistleblower Edward Snowden to Berlin.

Opposition parties in Germany wanted to bring Snowden to the country in order to give evidence about the NSA's operations, reported the Guardian.

On Friday, Germany's constitutional court ruled against the Green and Left parties that wanted the whistleblower to give evidence in person to a parliamentary committee investigating espionage by the US agency.

The government of Germany believes that their relations with the U.S. could be impaired if Snowden is allowed entry.

The issue has caused considerable tension between Germany and the United States.
