Data retrieved from the second black box of the ill-fated Germanwings plane has suggested that co-pilot Andreas Lubitz deliberately accelerated the flight's descent, French investigators said.
They said that Lubitz modified the automatic pilot system several times to increase the speed of descent and also to put the aircraft to an altitude of 100 feet (30 meters), reported the BBC.
The information also corroborated previous findings that Lubitz deliberately crashed the plane into the French Alps, killing all 150 onboard.
The plane was flying from Barcelona to Duesseldorf on March 24.
The news came day after investigators revealed that Lubitz had researched suicide methods and the security of cockpit doors on the internet the week before the crash. He had suffered from "severe depression" in the past.
