Sri Lanka's wicketkeeper-batsman Kumar Sangakkara's record-breaking fourth consecutive World Cup ton has earned him a hilarious tweet from none other than former Australian wicketkeeping great Adam Gilchrist.

Sangakkara became the first batsman ever to knock four successive centuries in a World Cup after he played a beautiful knock of 124 runs against Scotland on Wednesday. He combined with Tillakaratne Dilshan (104) in a 195-run, second-wicket partnership as Sri Lanka posted 363-9 on the way to a 148-run win.

And his exploits with the bat earned him a funny tweet from his former Australian counterpart Gilchrist, News.com.au reported.

Gilchrist tweeted that he scored four hundreds in a row once, but he added that it was a shame that it was on the golf course.

Gilchrist also added '@KumarSanga2 congrats on 500+ WC record and runs, runs, runs #legend' to his comical tweet.

Sangakkara also passed Gilchrist's record of most dismissals by a wicketkeeper, 52, in World Cup matches, with his 54 dismissals. The wicketkeeper-batsman also passed 500 ODI dismissals, the report added.
