Jason Gillespie has admitted that he requires England to persuade him to leave Yorkshire for the national team coaching job.

The former Australian cricketer, who has been coaching Yorkshire since 2011, has been recommended by England cricket director Andrew Strauss to replace sacked coach Peter Moores, but he wants the ECB to be more convincing and persuasive for him to leave his present job, the BBC has reported.

The 40-year-old fast-medium bowler, who led Yorkshire to the County Championship title in 2014, said that it was very humbling and flattering to considered for the England team role, but he felt that he had his dream job at present.

Gillespie played in four Ashes series victories for Australia between 1996 and 2006, as well as the 2-1 defeat by Michael Vaughan's England in 2005, and has coached in Zimbabwe and the Indian Premier League before joining Yorkshire.
