Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Giriraj Singh on Tuesday rejected reports appearing in the media of him crying before Prime Minister Narendra Modi and seeking forgiveness for his recent racist remarks against Congress Party president Sonia Gandhi.
He said that he had had no meeting with the Prime Minister, and questioned as to who saw him crying at that reported meeting.
He said and asked, "I had no meeting with the PM and who said I cried? Who saw?"
On Monday, the second half of the budget session of parliament was not allowed to function before the opposition forced Union Minister for MIcro, Small and Medium Enterprises Giriraj Singh to express regret in Lok Sabha for his 'racist' remark against Sonia Gandhi.
Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan asked Singh to apologize and brought the situation in the House under control.
Singh said, "I never meant to offend anyone. But if my comments hurt anyone's sentiments, I regret it."

He had to make the statement after the Speaker asked him to respond to reduce the loud protests in the House.
Congress members termed Singh's remarks as an insult to womanhood and sought his resignation.
From the Congress ranks, Jyotiraditya Scindia raised the issue.
Mahajan said she was also hurt by the remarks and such statements should not be made.
Both Sonia and Giriraj were present in the House.
Singh faced the opposition's ire for his racist barb at Sonia asking whether Congress would have accepted her leadership had she not been white-skinned.
Scindia had on Monday demanded an apology from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu said there was no need to drag the Prime Minister into the picture.
