Union Minister for Women and Child Development Maneka Gandhi, who unveiled the logo of girl child campaign 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' (Save girl, educate girl) here on Wednesday, said the programme will help sort out skewed sex ratio in 100 villages and produce desired results in two years.
"This logo is the representative of the first step of an extremely important programme which we hope will show results within two years in unskewing, if that is such a word, the sex ratio in hundred districts," she said.
Gandhi, who launched the logo on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 64th birthday, said it was his pet scheme.
The Minister for Women and Child Development also said childline services will be provided in around 280 locations across the country in the coming days, besides opening new child rights protection hubs.
Gandhi added that rules regarding child adoption in India were eased so that the parents don't have to wait for years for custody.
"So everything has been eased up and made really simply now. In fact we have more adoptions in last three months that we have had in the last three years. I mean literally, that difference because everybody is working on it," she said.

She said the setting up 'Nirbhaya centers' for women in distress and women helpline will together solve half of the problems of women in the country.
According to officials in the Women and Child Development Ministry, 330 of the 660 planned centers are likely to materialise by March 2015.
