'Girls Gone Wild' founder Joe Francis, who was convicted of choking a woman and repeatedly slamming her head to the ground in 2011, has been sentenced to 270 days in jail and a 3-year probation.
According to Deputy City Attorney Mitchell Fox, LA Superior Court Judge Nancy L. Newman also ordered Francis to complete an anger management course and attend 52 sessions of psychological counseling, ABC News reported.
His lawyer, Steve Levine, said that key details of the case were proven to be false in court, and he is appealing the decision.
Francis was accused of 5 charges that included three counts of false imprisonment, one count of assault by means likely to cause great bodily injury, and one count of dissuading a witness from reporting a crime.
Francis, who has been targeted with dozens of other lawsuits, has built his business empire by producing and marketing porn videos.
