Girls once again outshine boys in Class XII CBSE exams (Lead:CBSE)

Girls once again outshined the boys in the Class XII CBSE examinations results that were announced throughout the country today.

Over 82 percent students today cleared the 2013 Class XII CBSE examinations and girls continued to fare better than the boys with 87.98 percent clearing the exam as compared to 77.78 percent boys.

Among the regions, Chennai once again put up the best performance with a pass percentage of 91.83.

A statement issued by the CBSE said, the results were declared across the country today, with the total pass percentage standing at 82.10 per cent, an increase of about two per cent over the last year.

In all, 9,44,721 students registered for the Class XII examination this year, which was also an increase of 15.81 per cent over 2012.

The results can also be accessed through interactive voice response system (IVRS) at a charge of 30 paise per minute. The CBSE website says that the results can be accessed globally by dialing 91-11-24300699.

The Class XII board exams were conducted between March 1 and April 17 this year.
