The medical charity Doctors Without Border has said that an international panel is ready to investigate the US bombing on one of its hospitals in the Afghan city of Kunduz as soon as it receives an approval from the US and Afghanistan.

According to The Washington Times, Doctors Without Border, also known as Medecins Sans Frontiers (MSF), has urged for a third-party investigation, demanding that the Independent Humanitarian Fact-Finding Commission, created under the 1991 Geneva Conventions be activated for the first time to handle the probe.

Joanne Liu, MSF International President, said that they had received apologies but that was not enough.

MSF has alleged the bombing, if intentional, constitutes a war crime.

The hospital was bombed in an airstrike on October 3 in Kunduz where Afghan forces were combatting Taliban militants.
