Manohar Parrikar has said that he will be resigning as the Goa Chief Minister tomorrow and added that the decision over the nest state chief will be taken after he resigns.
"The Parliamentary Board has approved my resignation, I will resign tomorrow. The decision over the next state chief will also be taken tomorrow once I resign," said Parrikar.
"I will be meeting the BJP MLAs today but I have called them only to give a brief on the sequence of events. Everything is happening too fast, which is why even they are getting to know about all the news from the media, so a briefing was necessary. However, there will be no decision over the next chief minister today, it will be taken tomorrow by noon," he said.
"BS Yeddyurappa and BJP General Secretary Rajiv Pratap Rudy have been nominated as observers for Goa Legislature party meet. They will oversee the transition for next Goa chief minister," he added.
He further said that according to the law the advocate general of Goa has to resign along with the chief minister.
"About the advocate general, the normal law says that he has to resign if the chief minister resigns. He is not a political person. The only question is that whether he will continue as the advocate general or not," said Parrikar.
