Manchester City's goalkeeper Joe Hart is reportedly set to sign a new contract with the Premier League defending champions.
It has been reported that Hart has been in discussions with the club over a possible new five-year deal since the summer.
City boss Manuel Pellegrini revealed that he always said it is important for this club to keep Hart with them, adding that maybe in the next day the good news would be there, The BBC reported.
Pellegrini added that Hart, whose existing contract is due to expire in 2016, is not only a very good goalkeeper, but a very important player for the squad also.
Pellegrini claimed that the arrival of Willy Caballero was very important for the club, as well as for Hart, adding that the best way for players to have high performance is when they have important competition.
Hart's teammates Sergio Aguero, Samir Nasri, Vincent Kompany and David Silva all signed new five-year deals at the Etihad Stadium in the summer, the report added.
